Q.  How do I get my FBI file?

A.  To request records about yourself from the the FBI, follow the agency's instructions for making a "Privacy Act" request.  If you wish to obtain certain criminal-related records, e.g., a "rap sheet," you must submit a request to the Criminal Justice Information Services Division.
